By day I am a not-so-mild-mannered university administrator. My alter-ego is a writer. I am woking on a memoir about my experience as a founder (2016 - 2020) outside of the Silicon Valley bubble, tentatively called Upstarts: Founders, Failure, and the Startup Paradox.

I have been involved with fund development, marketing and business planning since the early 1990s. My main fundraising interests centre on arts and culture and their important role in community building and wellness.

​

My writing on startups has appeared in The Globe and Mail and The Hub. Between 2015 and 2018 I published articles in Canadian Gaming Business Magazine. My now very-occasional blog demonstrates my lateral approach to common business issues related to loyalty and engagement.
